Routes are advice

Scooter Navigatie calculates routes based on OpenStreetMap data and its own rules for mopeds and light mopeds. Map data can be incomplete or outdated: a new sign, a closed road, a changed cycle path or a temporary diversion is not always in it. Always check the situation on the spot. Traffic signs, traffic rules and instructions from the police always take precedence over what the app says or shows.

You remain responsible

As the rider you are responsible for your riding behaviour, your speed, where you ride (roadway or cycle/moped path) and compliance with the traffic rules. Even if the app suggests a route over a particular section of road, you judge for yourself whether you may and can ride there.

Do not operate your phone while riding

Holding or operating a phone while riding is prohibited and dangerous in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Set your route before you leave, use a phone holder and listen to the spoken instructions on the way. If you want to change something, stop in a safe place first.

Reports of speed cameras and checks

Fixed speed cameras come from OpenStreetMap; mobile speed cameras and checks are reported by other users. Those reports are not verified and may be incorrect, outdated or incomplete. They are meant to draw your attention to your speed and your vehicle, not to evade the law. In some countries warning of speed cameras or checks is prohibited; check the rules of the country you are riding in. Use there is at your own risk.

Speed, arrival time and weather

Speed limits, expected arrival times, petrol stations, ferries and rain forecasts (Buienradar, Open-Meteo) are indicative and may differ from reality.

Availability

The app needs an internet connection for planning and recalculating routes and for searching. The map along a planned route is stored on your phone in advance, but without coverage not everything works. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.

Liability

Use of the app is at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for damage resulting from the use of the app or from reliance on the information shown, including traffic fines, accidents, injury, damage to vehicle or phone, or detours.
